The word 'disproportionate' means that something is not equal or balanced. It's used to describe when something is much larger or much smaller than it should be in comparison to something else. You can use this word when you want to say that something is too much or too little compared to what is normal or expected. For example, if the punishment for a small crime is very severe, you could say that the punishment is disproportionate to the crime. Or, if a company pays its employees very low wages while the executives make millions of dollars, you could say that the salaries are disproportionate.
