An emulsion is a mixture of two liquids that don't naturally mix well together, like oil and water. To create an emulsion, a special substance called an emulsifier is added to help the liquids stay mixed together. Emulsions are commonly used in cooking, like in salad dressings, mayonnaise, and sauces. They are also used in cosmetics, such as lotions and creams. In industrial processes, emulsions can be used in the production of paints, coatings and inks.
