A tendon is a tough and thick band of tissue that attaches muscle to bone. It helps in moving body parts like arms, legs, hands, and feet. Tendons are present all over the body, such as in the ankles, knees, elbows, and shoulders. When you move or bend a body part, it is the tendon that pulls the muscle and makes the movement possible. However, overuse or injury to the tendon can cause pain and discomfort. So, doctors might suggest treatments like rest, physical therapy, or surgery to heal and strengthen a damaged tendon.
