'Occlusion' is a big word that is used to describe the way our teeth fit together when our mouth is closed. It can be used in a few different ways, but usually it refers to either the way your upper and lower teeth fit together, or to a problem where your teeth aren't fitting together correctly. For example, if your dentist tells you that you have an 'occlusion problem', it means that your teeth aren't coming together the way they should be. In everyday conversation, you might hear people use the word 'occlusion' when they're talking about dental work, like braces or retainers, or when discussing bite problems.
