The word "parallax" is commonly used in photography or astronomy to describe the apparent shift in position of an object when viewed from different perspectives. For example, if you hold up your finger and look at it first with your left eye and then with your right eye, your finger will appear to move slightly. This shift in position is called parallax. Additionally, the word is sometimes used in video games or virtual reality to describe the effect of motion parallax, where objects in the background appear to move slower than objects in the foreground as you move your head or change perspective.
