Puree refers to a food that has been turned into a soft and smooth mixture by blending, crushing, or grinding it into a paste or sauce-like consistency. This is usually done with fruits, vegetables, or legumes. Purees are commonly used in baby food, soups, sauces, smoothies, and in some desserts. They make for a good option when someone wants to eat foods that they might not have been able to consume in their original form – for example, if they have dental issues or if they don't like the taste of certain foods.
