The word 'silty' usually describes soil or water that has a lot of tiny particles in it, like mud. You can use it to describe a river or lake that looks brownish because of all the dirt and mud in it, or the soil in a garden that feels soft and crumbly because it has a lot of small particles. So, if you see something that has a lot of these small particles, you can say it's "silty".
