Personification is when you give human qualities or characteristics to something that is not human, such as an object or an animal. It is often used in literature and poetry to help readers understand and relate to the subject being described. For example, a writer may personify the wind as a dancer, giving it human-like qualities of movement and grace. In everyday conversation, you might use personification to describe a car that "wants to keep going" or a tree that "reaches out its branches."
