The word 'qualm' is used to describe a feeling of unease or doubt about something that a person is about to do or has done. For example, if someone has a qualm about eating meat because they are concerned about animal cruelty, it means they have a feeling of doubt or unease about eating it. We can say "She had a qualm about lying to her parents" or "He had no qualms about cheating on his exam". The word is often used in situations where a person is questioning or second-guessing their actions, decisions or beliefs.
