The word 'impanel' is used in the legal system when a group of people, called a jury, is chosen to hear a court case. The judge will impanel, or select, individuals from a larger group to serve as jurors. This means that they will listen to the evidence presented in court and make a decision on the outcome of the case. The word 'impanel' is rarely used outside of the legal system.
