The term "above the fold" originated in newspapers and refers to the top half of the front page that is visible when the paper is folded in half. It is the most important and attention-grabbing section of the newspaper because it is what people see first. Similarly, in web design, “above the fold” refers to the part of a webpage that is visible without scrolling down. This area includes important information such as headlines, images, and calls-to-action. "Below the fold" refers to the content that is visible only after scrolling down. It is still important but may not get as much attention compared to the content above the fold.
