The expression "and what not" is used to mean "and other similar things." It is often added at the end of a list of examples to suggest that there are more examples that could be given, but the speaker is choosing to stop there. For example, if someone is talking about things they need for a camping trip, they might say, "I need a tent, sleeping bags, a stove, and what not." This means that there are more items they could list, but those are some of the most important. It's a casual expression and can be used in conversation with friends or informal writing, but may not be used in formal or professional writing or speaking.
