"Bang to rights" is a common phrase used mainly in the UK. It means that someone has been caught doing something wrong or illegal and there is strong evidence to prove it. It is similar to saying "caught red-handed". It is often used by the police or in court when referring to a suspect who has been caught with clear evidence of their wrongdoing. For example, "The thief was caught on CCTV stealing from the store, so he was caught bang to rights."
