The expression "flunk out" means to fail a class or course of study so badly that you are not allowed to continue. It is commonly used in educational settings to describe a student who has failed so many classes that they are no longer eligible to attend school or a particular program. For example, if you don't do well in all your classes in college and you fail so many of them that you are no longer eligible to continue, you would be said to have "flunked out" of college.
