The expression "forbidden fruit" is often used to describe something that is tempting or desirable but is not allowed or acceptable to have or do. It comes from a story in the Bible where Adam and Eve were told not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge, but they did anyway. So, when we use the expression "forbidden fruit," it means that something is forbidden or not allowed, but the temptation to do it or have it is strong. For example, if there is a rule against eating candy before dinner, but you really want some, you might say that the candy is your "forbidden fruit."
