The expression "God willing" is usually used to show a hope or expectation that something will happen, but that it is ultimately up to God, or fate, as to whether or not it actually happens. It is often used when making plans for the future, to show some humility and respect for the unpredictability of life. For example, if someone says "I'll see you tomorrow, God willing", it means they hope to see you, but acknowledge that circumstances beyond their control (like illness or other unforeseen events) could prevent it from happening.
