When we say "hang on somebody's words" or "hang on somebody's every word", it means that we are paying very close attention to what the person is saying, usually because we consider their words to be important or interesting. It's kind of like holding on tightly to a rope - we are holding on tightly to their words because we want to understand or learn something from them. You might use this expression when talking about a teacher whose lectures you always listen to carefully, or a friend who always seems to have fascinating stories to tell.
