The phrase "if you like" is used when you want to suggest an idea or a choice to someone, but you want to give them the option to accept or decline it. For example, "Do you want to go to the movies tonight? If you like, we could watch the new thriller." In this case, you're giving the person the option to choose whether or not they want to see the new thriller. Another example could be, "Would you like to have ice cream with your cake? If you like, we can grab some from the store." Here you're suggesting ice cream, but leaving it up to the person if they want to have some or not.
