Cách sử dụng
The expression "play gooseberry" is used when a third person goes out with a couple or two close people, making it awkward or uncomfortable for them to spend quality time together. The third person is often referred to as a "gooseberry" because they are round and get in the way, just like a fruit. For example, if two friends go out on a date and their mutual friend comes along, he or she may be "playing gooseberry" when they interrupt their conversation or hinder their privacy.
