The expression "plus or minus" is used to show uncertainty or possible variation in something. It's often used when discussing numbers or measurements. For example, if you are measuring the length of a piece of wood and you say it's 50 centimeters plus or minus 2 centimeters, that means its length may be anywhere in the range of 48 to 52 centimeters. Another example is when reporting statistical data, where you might say that a certain percentage of people support a particular initiative, plus or minus a margin of error of a few percentage points. So, "plus or minus" is used to indicate that there is some degree of uncertainty in the information being reported.
