SEE SOMEBODY/SOMETHING FOR WHAT THEY ARE/IT IS - Định nghĩa trong Từ điển tiếng Anh
Cách sử dụng
The expression "see somebody/something for what they are/it is" means to see someone or something as they truly are, without any exaggeration or false representations. This is usually used when we want to tell someone that they need to look beyond superficial or false appearances and recognize the truth about a person or situation. For example, if your friend is dating someone who you think is not a good match for them, you might say "You need to see him for who he really is, not just the things he says or does to impress you." This means that your friend needs to look past the surface and see the person's true character to make a good decision about their relationship. Similarly, you might use this expression when talking about a product or service that seems too good to be true. You might say "You need to see this company for what it is, they don't really offer the amazing deals and services they claim to." This means that you need to recognize the truth about a company, even if their advertisements are impressive or persuasive.
