We use the expression "stand/stick out a mile" to describe something or someone that is very easy to notice because they are so different or unusual. It means that the thing or person is very noticeable, even from a long distance away. For example, if someone is wearing a bright pink coat in a sea of black coats, they will stand out a mile. It can also be used to describe things that are very obvious or easy to see.
