"Stick up" is a phrase that can mean two different things. 1) The first meaning is to physically hold someone up with a weapon in order to steal from them. For example, if someone says "I was walking home when somebody stuck me up and took my wallet," it means that someone threatened them with a weapon and stole their wallet. 2) The second meaning of "stick up" is to rise or protrude above something else. For example, "The flagpole is sticking up above the building" means that the top of the pole is higher than the top of the building. It's important to pay attention to the context in which "stick up" is being used to determine which meaning is being conveyed.
