The expression "wade in" is used when someone is about to get involved in a situation, often one that may be difficult or controversial. It is similar to the idea of "jumping in" or "diving in". You might hear someone say, "I'm going to wade in and see if I can help resolve this issue", meaning they are going to get involved and try to solve the problem. It can also be used in a more literal sense, for example, if you are going to walk through a shallow body of water, you may be "wading in".
