The expression "wade through" means to make an effort to read or deal with a lot of difficult or complex information, tasks or situations. For example, you may say, "I have to wade through a pile of paperwork at work" meaning that you have a lot of paperwork to read and complete. Or, "I had to wade through a dense book to finish my assignment" meaning that you had to read and understand a difficult book to complete your homework.
