The expression "a foregone conclusion" means that something is very likely to happen, and it's almost certain that the outcome can't be changed. It's often used when talking about a situation where the result has already been decided before any action is taken. For example, if a team is much better than their opponents, it could be a foregone conclusion that they will win the game. Similarly, if someone is extremely talented and experienced, it could be a foregone conclusion that they will get the job they're applying for.
