The expression "be another/a different matter" is used when you want to explain that something is not the same as something else. For example, if someone asks you if you can play basketball, you might say "I can play soccer, but basketball is another matter," which means you are not good at basketball. Another example could be if someone asks you if you have time to go to the movies, you might say "Going to the movies on a weekday is one thing, but going on the weekend is a different matter," which means you have more time on weekdays than weekends.
