The expression "be on your/its last legs" means that something is in very poor condition or close to breaking down completely. It is often used to describe objects such as machines or appliances that are very old or have been used a lot and are no longer working properly. For example, if your car is old and has many mechanical problems, you might say that it is on its last legs. Similarly, if your grandmother's old washing machine is making strange noises and leaking water, it might be on its last legs. It can also be used to describe a person who is very tired or sick and is struggling to complete a task or activity.
