The expression "in/into the stratosphere" is used to describe something that has gone very high, either in terms of success or progress. It is often used metaphorically to indicate something that has exceeded expectations or reached new heights. For example, "Her career has really taken off, putting her earnings in the stratosphere" or "This technology has propelled the company's growth into the stratosphere". The stratosphere is a layer of the Earth's atmosphere which starts about 10km above the surface and extends to around 50km. It is characterized by very thin air, little water vapor or dust, and an increase in temperature with height.
