"Out of breath" is an expression used when somebody has been exercising or doing something physical, and they are having trouble breathing normally. For example, if you run up the stairs quickly, you might feel "out of breath" at the top. It can also be used to describe feeling winded or short of breath after laughing really hard or having a panic attack. It's important to take a break and rest until you can catch your breath and breathe normally again.
