When we say something or someone is "under siege," it means that they are facing a lot of opposition or attack from others. This phrase originally referred to a military situation where a group of soldiers would surround and attack a fortress or town in order to gain control. However, nowadays, we use it more broadly to describe any situation where something or someone is facing a lot of pressure or hostility. For example, we might say that a company is "under siege" from angry customers, or that a politician is "under siege" from the media.
