The word 'around' is used to talk about the location or position of something or someone. It can also be used to talk about a general area or region. For example, "The cat is walking around the room" means that the cat is moving inside the room but not staying in one spot. "There are many parks around this area" means that there are many parks in the general vicinity of the location being referred to. 'Around' can also be used to describe an approximate time or quantity. For example, "I'll be there around 3 o'clock" means that the speaker will arrive sometime close to 3 o'clock but not necessarily exactly at that time.
