A clan is a group of people who are related to each other, typically by ancestry or marriage. It can also be used to describe a group of people with a common interest or goal. The word is often used to refer to Scottish or Irish families or tribes, but it can apply to any group of people who share a common bond. For example, you might hear someone say "I'm part of the Smith clan" to mean they are related to the Smith family. Or, you might hear someone say "I'm part of the hiking clan" to mean they have a shared interest in hiking with a group of people.
