The word 'reciprocal' is used when two people or things are acting or giving in the same way towards each other. For example, if I borrow a book from my friend and then lend her a book in return, our relationship becomes reciprocal because we are both lending and borrowing from each other. Another way to explain it is like a seesaw, where both sides have equal weight and move up and down together – that's reciprocal. You can also use the word in math to describe the opposite of a fraction, or in science to describe a force that acts in opposite but equal ways.
