'Liquidity' refers to how easily something can be turned into cash. In finance, it refers to how easily an asset (like stocks or property) can be sold or traded for cash without causing a significant change in its value. It is important to keep a good level of liquidity in investments to ensure that access to cash when needed is not impacted. For example, if an individual needs to sell a house quickly to access cash for an emergency, a house is not considered to be a liquid asset because it might take time to find a buyer and complete the sale. However, stocks are generally considered more liquid because they can be quickly sold and converted into cash.
