Cách sử dụng
The word 'tangent' has two main meanings. The first meaning is used in math when talking about the line that touches a circle or curved surface at one point without crossing it. For example, if you draw a line that just touches the edge of a circle at one point, that line is called a tangent. The second meaning is used when people go off-topic in a conversation or discussion. If someone says something that is not related to the main topic or point being discussed, we say that they are going off on a tangent. For example, if a group of friends are talking about their favorite movies and one person starts talking about their pets, they are going off on a tangent. So, depending on the context, 'tangent' can refer either to a line that touches a curve, or to going off-topic in a discussion.
